Do not attempt either procedure until you contact Mylex. - When installing Windows 2000, do not use the F6 setup procedure on any of the following Mylex controllers: - Mylex EXR1100 Disk Array Controllers - Mylex DAC960PG/PJ/PR/PT Controllers - Mylex AR150, AR200, AR250 Controllers The Windows 2000 CD-ROM contains a built in driver for these controllers. Once the normal Windows 2000 installation procedure is completed, the user should upgrade the Mylex controller driver to the version included. See the SWKIT manual for instructions on upgrading the driver. - The Mylex Accelerated Disk driver (macdisk.sys) is not supported under Windows 2000. - The Operating System drivers included in this Software kit 4.02 support Mylex controllers with 4.x firmware or later. - If you are currently using an existing version of GAM Server, Mylex recommends that you do not uninstall this version prior to upgrading to the version included on this SWKIT CD. With the old version still installed and running, just insert the SWKIT CD and run the new setup.exe application by choosing the 'Install Global Array Manager' option from the Main Menu of the Autorun application. Follow the procedures documented in the SWKIT Installation Guide and User Manual to install the GAM Server software. The reason for this is as follows: If an old GAM Server (2.21-xx) is uninstalled and no reboot is performed, installing GAM server from the CD-ROM will result in the GAM Driver not loading on the next reboot. This will not occur if the user installs the new server over the top of the old one while it is still running. If the existing GAM Server has been uninstalled, be sure to reboot the system before installing the new version from this SWKIT CD-ROM or the files which has been down loaded from the Mylex web site. - If the GAM Server & Workstation Array Manager are installed on the same system and one of them is uninstalled, the other will no longer work because the GAM Driver will get uninstalled. Please see the SW Kit 4.02 Release Notes for additional documentation
